Environmental Survey Field Technician – Permian Basin White Buffalo Environmental (WBE) Location: Permian Basin Region (Travel Required) Position Overview: White Buffalo Environmental is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Environmental Survey Field Technician to support environmental compliance and field data collection efforts throughout the Permian Basin. This role is responsible for conducting on-site inspections, documenting production and equipment conditions, collecting field data, and supporting regulatory reporting requirements for oil and gas operations. This position requires strong field awareness, technical accuracy, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate understands oil and gas production environments and can operate independently while maintaining clear communication with supervisors and clients. Key Responsibilities: -Field Operations & Data Collection -Conduct on-site environmental surveys and inspections at oil and gas facilities -Collect and document field data related to production equipment, tanks, and site conditions -Complete field diagrams and sketches to support CAD and internal documentation systems -Verify accuracy of gauges, meters, dials, and other equipment indicators -Maintain detailed, accurate field notes and photographic documentation Compliance & Documentation: -Support environmental compliance initiatives through accurate reporting -Assist in preparation of documentation required for regulatory programs -Apply company quality standards to ensure deliverables meet technical and compliance requirements -Communicate findings clearly to supervisors and project managers Communication & Coordination: -Provide timely updates to supervisors and team members -Communicate professionally with clients, operators, and field personnel -Work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines -Adapt to shifting field priorities and operational demands Required Qualifications: -High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with related work experience -Valid driver’s license with clean driving record -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications -Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities -Strong communication skills (verbal and written) -Ability to work independently in active oil and gas production environments Preferred Qualifications: -Experience in the oil and gas field -Prior experience as a Lease Operator or Pumper -One or more years of field experience in production or environmental services -Vocational training in oil and gas production, general maintenance, or related technical field -Ability to interpret gauges, dials, meters, and field instrumentation -Experience supporting regulatory compliance documentation Health, Safety & Environmental Commitment: -Adheres strictly to all safety and environmental requirements -Demonstrates strong commitment to safe work practices -Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in production environments -Actively identifies, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions -Follows operating procedures and complies with all regulatory standards Work Environment & Travel: -Travel to regional field locations required (up to 2–3 weeks at a time) -Work performed in active oil and gas production settings -Company truck, tools, and laptop provided Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization
Air Compliance Operations Manager Position Overview: White Buffalo Environmental is seeking an experienced Air Quality Operations Manager to lead and expand our air permitting, emissions reporting, and compliance services nationwide. This role is responsible for overseeing regulatory air programs, managing client deliverables, coordinating testing and reporting activities, and building scalable internal systems that protect our clients’ operational continuity and regulatory standing. This is a leadership position with direct impact on revenue growth, compliance risk reduction, and client retention. Key Responsibilities: -Air Permitting & Regulatory Compliance -Prepare and manage state and federal air permits (minor source, synthetic minor, Title V as applicable) -Oversee annual emissions inventory reporting and compliance certifications -Manage permit modifications and renewals -Ensure alignment with EPA and state-specific regulatory frameworks -Emissions Reporting & Technical Oversight -Calculate and validate air emissions (criteria pollutants, HAPs, GHG where applicable) -Oversee air dispersion modeling (or manage subcontractors performing modeling) -Coordinate stack testing and performance testing -Review and approve technical reports before client submission Operations & Process Management: -Develop standardized workflows for air quality projects -Build internal tracking systems for deadlines and reporting cycles -Ensure quality control across all air-related deliverables -Support integration with WBE software tools (e.g., internal tracking platforms) Client & Business Development Support: -Serve as technical lead during client calls and proposals -Assist with scope development and pricing for air quality services -Identify cross-selling opportunities (SPCC, Tier II, GHG, stormwater, etc.) -Contribute to service line growth strategy Required Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field -5+ years of experience in air permitting and regulatory compliance -Demonstrated experience preparing emissions inventories and permit applications -Strong working knowledge of Clean Air Act regulations -Experience working with state environmental agencies -Strong technical writing skills -Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Preferred Qualifications: -Professional Engineer (PE) license -Experience with Title V facilities -Experience with oil & gas, midstream, manufacturing, or energy sectors -Air dispersion modeling experience (AERMOD or equivalent) Performance Metrics (What Success Looks Like): -Zero missed regulatory deadlines -Accurate, defensible emissions reporting -Growth of air services revenue within 12 months -Standardized internal air compliance workflows implemented -Strong client retention and repeat work
